About the procedure
Drooping brows weigh down the eyelid and create a tired expression. In an endoscopic brow lift, 1–2 cm incisions are made within the scalp and the procedure is performed with camera guidance; the brows are fixed in their new position.
It is often planned together with upper eyelid surgery, so that brow descent, the real cause of the excess lid skin, is corrected as well.
Which part of the brow is lifted, and by how much, is decided with the patient in front of a mirror; a slight arch in the outer third of the brow is the aim in women, and a flatter line in men. In the endoscopic technique the brows are held in their new position with absorbable fixation devices or small screw systems; because the forehead muscles are released, frown lines also soften. In patients with a very long forehead or a receded hairline, the option of a forehead shortening through an incision along the hairline is also discussed.

Who is it suitable for?
May be suitable
- ✓People, mostly over 40, whose brows have dropped below the brow bone and weigh down the upper lid.
- ✓Those bothered by a brow position that gives a tired, angry, or sad expression even when rested.
- ✓Those who have tried a Botox brow lift but found the effect temporary or insufficient.
- ✓Patients with a pronounced brow asymmetry who want to bring both brows to the same level.
Should be postponed or is not suitable
- —Patients with a normal brow position and only excess upper lid skin; blepharoplasty alone is enough in this case.
- —Those with a very high forehead and a markedly receded hairline; because the endoscopic technique can lengthen the forehead further, a different incision plan is needed.
- —Those with an active scalp infection or a history of serious trauma to the forehead area.
The final decision on suitability is made after a physician examination and tests.
Process
How does it proceed, step by step?

Initial consultation
The brow position relative to the brow bone, forehead height, and hairline are assessed from photographs; the need for blepharoplasty is discussed at the same time.

Design
The desired brow height and arch are marked in front of a mirror; the plan is drawn to preserve a natural expression without over-lifting the inner brow.
- 03
Surgery
Under sedation or general anesthesia, 3–5 small incisions are made within the hair; the forehead tissue is released with camera guidance and the brows are fixed in their new position.

Same-day discharge
After a few hours of observation you are discharged with a light head dressing; sleeping with the head elevated and cold compresses on the forehead are recommended.

Check-up
The dressing is removed on days 2–3, and the sutures or staples within the hair on days 7–10; hair washing is cleared.
- 06
Return and follow-up
You can fly after suture removal; brow position and symmetry are checked with photographs at months 1 and 3.
Recovery
Recovery timeline
Day 1
Tightness in the forehead, headache, and scalp numbness are felt; pain is usually mild.
Days 3–5
Swelling descends to the eyelids and the eyes may look puffy; forehead movement feels restricted.
Week 1
Sutures are removed and swelling decreases markedly; the brows sit higher than planned in the first weeks, which is expected.
Week 2
Bruising disappears and you return to work and social life; haircuts and coloring are postponed.
Month 1
As swelling resolves, the brows approach their final height; itching and numbness in the scalp begin to decrease.
Month 3
Forehead sensation largely returns and the incision scars become unnoticeable within the hair; the result is judged at this stage.

Risks and points to consider
Every medical procedure carries risks. The points below are the main known issues for this procedure; a risk assessment specific to you is made during the consultation.
- Numbness and itching in the scalp and forehead that can last for months; they recede as the sensory nerves heal.
- A height difference between the brows; mild asymmetry may be related to swelling, and if it persists a minor correction may be needed.
- Temporary hair loss along the incision lines; it usually regrows within months.
- Some downward drift of the brow over time; this varies with the fixation method and tissue quality.
- Temporary weakness in the nerve branch that supplies the forehead muscle; rarely it can be permanent and affect raising the forehead.
