About the procedure
In Endolift, a laser fiber as thin as a hair is advanced under the skin; the laser energy reduces fat and tightens the collagen network beneath the skin. There are no incisions, sutures or general anesthesia.
It is applied in a single session for a double chin, the jawline and sagging cheeks; the result becomes progressively more visible over 2–3 months.
Before deciding on Endolift, skin thickness, the amount of fat, and the degree of sagging are assessed by hand and visually, because the method tightens the skin rather than shortening it. It gives the most consistent results under the chin and along the jawline where there is moderate excess fat and mild to moderate laxity. If there is pronounced sagging, surgical options (neck lift, chin liposuction) are discussed openly in the same consultation; the priority is choosing the right procedure rather than steering the patient toward a nonsurgical method.
- ✓No incisions or sutures
- ✓Back to social life the same day
- ✓Fat reduction together with skin tightening
Suitability
Who is it suitable for?
May be suitable
- ✓People with moderate fat accumulation under the chin and mild skin laxity who do not want surgery.
- ✓Patients whose jawline has become less defined but who do not have noticeable excess skin on the neck.
- ✓Those who want to smooth out small irregularities remaining after liposuction or a facelift.
- ✓People who have to return to work and social life within a few days and cannot allow a long recovery.
- ✓Those with medium to thick skin who prefer a single-session treatment.
Should be postponed or is not suitable
- —Those with noticeable excess skin and deep sagging on the neck; a surgical lift gives a more appropriate result in this situation.
- —Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding; the treatment is postponed until after this period.
- —Those with an active infection, inflammatory skin disease, or an uncontrolled chronic illness in the treatment area.
- —In patients with very thin skin, suitability is evaluated separately because the laser working close to the skin surface increases the risk of burns.
The final decision on suitability is made after a physician examination and tests.
Process
How does it proceed, step by step?
- 01
Initial consultation
Fat amount, skin thickness, and degree of laxity are evaluated with photographs and an examination; whether Endolift or surgery is appropriate is clarified.
- 02
Planning
The treatment area is marked as under the chin, the jawline, and the cheeks if needed; medications and blood thinners are reviewed.
- 03
Procedure day
The area is numbed with local anesthesia, a fine fiber is advanced under the skin through small entry points, and laser energy is delivered in a controlled manner.
- 04
After the procedure
Small dressings are placed over the entry points; a light chin strap and cold compresses may be recommended for the first days.
- 05
Check
At the next-day check, swelling and skin integrity are evaluated; patients from out of town can return home after this check.
- 06
Return and follow-up
Remote follow-up with photographs is done at months 1 and 3; as tightening progresses, whether an additional treatment is needed is evaluated together.
Recovery
Recovery timeline
Day 1
Mild swelling, tenderness, and tiny red marks at the entry points; pain is usually managed with simple painkillers.
Days 3–5
Swelling largely subsides; slight firmness that can be felt under the chin is normal and softens over time.
Week 1
In most patients, no outwardly noticeable mark remains; there are no restrictions for social life or desk work.
Month 1
Fat reduction begins to become noticeable; skin tightening has not yet fully settled.
Month 3
The jawline becomes more defined as collagen remodels; most of the result is evaluated during this period.
Year 1
The tightening achieved may gradually diminish with the aging process; a repeat treatment can be planned if needed.
Timeframes are averages; they vary by person and by the scope of the procedure.

Risks and points to consider
Every medical procedure carries risks. The points below are the main known issues for this procedure; a risk assessment specific to you is made during the consultation.
- Temporary swelling, bruising, and small firm areas that can be felt; most resolve on their own within a few weeks.
- Risk of superficial burns and marks if the fiber works too close to the skin surface; this is why skin thickness matters in the initial assessment.
- Less tightening than expected; especially in skin with greater laxity, a second session or surgery may become necessary.
- Temporary numbness or slight asymmetry in the chin and neck area; usually resolves within weeks.
- Rarely, infection; keeping the entry points clean and attending follow-up appointments is important.
